The only thing I do is just flush fresh water threw it two to three times. Dont use soap, unless you like the taste of soap.

Honestly, other than running water through it, I have never "cleaned" mine out. Blackhawk sells a cleaning kit, but other than that I have no idea. Just remember after every use, drain out all water, and I hang mine to dry.

Ok thanks guys, and doesn't always taste so bad, LOL j/k. But the bit of the hose has an awful smell, any ideas to rid of that?

I use hand soap, just a bit and then rinse several times very well. Kills the bacteria and keeps the smell away. If you rinse everything properly and multiple times you shouldn't be tasting soap.

I have the cleaning kit from BH that Vito mentioned. After mold appeared in the tube on my first bladder, I wasn't going to screw around with it anymore. If you can't clean it after every time you use it, at least drain it the best you can and let it air dry for a few days. As for cleaning, use a little soap (I think I usually use dish soap) and HOT water. If you rinse it well right off the bat you won't smell/taste the soap. One thing I do to clean the bladder itself is fill it about half way with hot water and put a little soap in it, and just shake it around for a while. That's always done the trick for me. The cleaning kit does come with a pipe cleaner on it which has been a life saver on a few occasions. One could be rigged of house hold items fairly quickly I would imagine though.
